FEMA Makes Massive Order for Dehydrated Food (03/01/11)What does FEMA know that the rest of us don't? FEMA has ordered $1 billion dollars worth of dehydrated food representing approximately 420 million meals putting a stranglehold on the suppliers. As an individual, you can always stock your own household with long lasting shelf life products if dehydrated food is not to be found. Canned goods last for years. Flour, rice, and dried beans can last for years as well if kept very cold and sealed. Frozen meats, butters, and vegetables can last a year (although less than a year is preferable).
