QE2, Food Prices, Riots, and Poverty (02/17/11)

Although FED Chairman Bernanke denies it, some argue that QE2 has resulted in food inflation being exported throughout the world resulting in tens of millions of hungry, angry people.  The World Bank's new study just announced that a sharp rise in food prices (which soared 29 percent from January of 2010 to January of 2011) has pushed 44 million people into extreme poverty (living on less than $1.25 a day).  Food prices represent one of the triggers that produced the riots in Egypt - and now elsewhere.  Should Bernanke claim credit for overthrowing the Egyptian government?
